Grace Darling Famous person fact sheet. Includes key events and important stages in their life broken into short easy to read sections with pictures and photos. I have used this with pupils in Years 1-4 to help them retrieve information / develop their knowledge to write about a famous person in a range of genres (newspaper report, biography, letter or diary writing, fiction, non-fiction etc). I have also used it with a guided reading group and a set of questions linked to the topic followed up with a written comprehension exercise.

Speech bubble cards. Set of 21 cards. Can be used with all ages and abilities. Each card has a fun picture of an animal in winter with a speech bubble. Each card has a simple question to prompt pupil imagination to think of a response for the animal on the card. Pupils can be as sensible, humorous or as Zany as they want! I laminated each card and use them as a fun class quick fire round at the end of lessons. Also can be used as a lesson starter/plenary or small group activity when covering conversation topics, speech bubbles and thought showers.

Dinosaur fact cards. Set of 12 KS1/KS2. Can be used as a game to help pupils learn the names and characteristics of the individual dinosaurs. Use also as a reference resource for research work on Dinosaur topic, Science /non-fiction writing. Each card has a brief fact about location, date, appearance, teeth, fun fact and a general information section. Simple layout for pupils to find information easily and an engaging picture of each dinosaur. KS1 and KS2 Christmas jumper design templates. Have fun planning and creating a design for a novelty Christmas jumper! There are three different blank jumper templates for pupils to use and a design planning template to complete before starting the task. I have included a prompt sheet with ideas for the pupils to consider eg style of the jumper (neckline, sleeves), pattern or plain, colours and embellishments etc. There is a post design task on the design template where pupils ask for feedback from three other class members (simple questions are provided on the template) and revise their designs in the light of the feedback. A great activity for incorporating DT/Art into a Christmas theme.

A simple template for pupils to complete to share facts and information about themselves in the written form of New Year Resolutions. The prompts encourage the pupils to think and reflect on their hopes and wishes (as well as challenges) for the New Year 2023, plus a space to draw a self -portrait or stick on a photo. Great to use in January at the start of the new term as an ice breaker or warm up after the holidays.

The Great Fire of London pp KS1 31 slides. The power-point can be divided into separate sections depending on how you want to follow up some of the aspects/features depending on your class. Each set of slides includes paired discussion or individual/ paired written follow up tasks or worksheets. There are a range of strategies to keep the content interesting and interactive. Slides 2-6 introduce the topic with a 3-clue riddle, slides 7&9 focus on a sentence starter activity /worksheet about fire engines. Slides 10&11 focus on Samuel Pepys. Slides 12-15 show London in 1666 and a you tube clip about the Great Fire. Slides 16-17: Fire-fighting in 1666. Slides 18-22 focus on the fire as seen by Samuel Pepys. September Welcome back! Y1-Y6 Powerpoint lesson(s) of 50 slides. Includes simple class and paired games, talk activities and worksheets to help your pupils restart their year together and restart their friendships. The power-point explores feelings, belonging and finding out about the interests of other pupils in the class including hobbies, favourite books, sports etc. There is a section at the end to help pupils model how to make a new friend and how to start/sustain a conversation/make an arrangement to do something. The modelled activities use images of animals to help remove self -consciousness and help pupils take a step back from their own situations. Learning objectives To find out about adults and children in my class so I feel comfortable about talking to them. KS1&2 Christmas Nativity story sequencing activity. Learning objective: To sequence and retell the Christmas story in order. Pupils cut out the boxed images and descriptions and sequence the story onto a storyboard template. There are three templates attached which support differentiation and reading levels. Higher Ability (Timeline 1) template is numbered only and pupils order the story into the numbered boxes. Middle Ability (Timeline 2) is differentiated using key words from the main text in the numbered boxes. Lower Ability (Timeline 3) order the story into the numbered boxes with the support of key sentences which they can match to the main text. After completing the activity the pupils can retell the story using the timeline sequence as a prompt.

Geography World New Year greetings and flags KS1,2,3 193 cards with the flag of each country which is an official member of the United Nations. Each card has the country flag and the greeting ‘Happy New Year’ translated into the official and most widely used language of that country. Each card includes the greeting in the written language of that country as well as a simpler form of pronunciation from the written script. Useful and fun to use with topic such as ‘Celebrations’, Countries of the world’, ‘Maps and flags’. I have also used these cards to encourage pupils to find similarities and differences (pupil suggestions eg similar languages, colours of flags, flag designs and continents, writing scripts and forms). The pupils can have fun recognising flags and trying to say ‘Happy New Year’ in world languages. Also can be used as a basis/component part in a class assembly.

A KS1/lower KS2 power-point of 16 slides which can be used as one lesson or extended over a longer period. Learning Objectives To know *what an invitation looks like. *what information needs to be included in an invitation. *how to set out an invitation There is a warm up – different types of invitations and celebrations, partner activities and a final writing task. Included are examples of 2 invitations (Christmas and Halloween party) for pupils to use in the lesson to spot the key features and help Jojo correct her invitation (because no one has replied!). There are key questions to promote discussion and paired work. Also included is a simple invitation template for pupil use. Final task: write an invitation for a school Halloween fancy dress party. Pupils can also use the important information/checklist to give paired feedback after writing their own invitation. Slides 15(black and white version) and 16(colour version) are a Halloween invitation template for pupils to complete.
